@Lazerbem I dunno, like you could actually like Beerus as a person in BoG but in Super you just want him to due, attractive qualities for creating an antagonist I suppose. Beerus is actually kinda coolin BoG, in Super he's entirely sinister. (Granted I think this is what's wrong with Super Beerus, too much of a villain to see how he's gonna change in between arcs, Vegeta took practically all of Z to change.) |

The problem with Super Beerus is that even if he's a good villain, he's not a good character. Right now Beerus, like a lot of other villains, is stuck with this blatant stereotype of a villain with very little characterization. Let's be perfectly honest, take every single villain that has ever appeared in the series barring people like Fat Boo and maybe Kid Boo. Take them all, take Vegeta, Nappa, Freeza, Cell, Super Boo, All 13 movie villains (Maybe make a slight exception for Janemba and Hirudengard who fits more on that Kid Boo side) take them all and other than appearance, what is the difference? What is the difference between Vegeta and Freeza? Both are mass murdering, full of them selves beings who think their better than everyone else, can't stand losing, hate everyone are plain total dicks. What's the difference between Cell and Vegeta? Nothing. There is absolutely noting different between them other than a few different select goals. What's the difference between Turles and Lord Slug? Nothing. What is the difference between Cooler and Broly? Absolutely nothing. And while I may or may not put Super Beerus as low as this, he's come to the point where he's becoming if not has already become just as stereotypical as all the other villains. The only thing that keeps him from literally being this low is the fact that he still has a few more quirks to him that can just barely be seen. This is something overlooked a lot but once you get down to it, DBZ villains are the biggest stereotypes around and have had the same formula over and over again and it's fearful that Super Beerus is turning out just like that. You want good villains? Like really good villains with good characterization that aren't blatant stereotype? Read some JoJo's Bizzare Adventure. People like Yoshikage Kira, Dio Brando and Funny Valentine can be just as evil and villainous as those in DBZ but have the added points of character and characterization that makes them a million times better than any villain in DBZ. The emotions in super. Way more tension The setting The comedy The pacing is off in a a couple episodes but overall I think the build up is better Dancing vegeta scene has nothing on chef vegeta scene Everything about vegeta vs beerus. The build up, the emotions, the rage boost, and the fight Gotens outfit King vegeta scene. Goes along with the first point. That was actually intense Beerus being able to paralyze people by looking at them. That was interesting to see There are other things I enjoy about super but those are what apply to BOG Edited by Ssj3vegito96, Sep 2 2015, 04:14 PM.

I'm not entirely sure that it is something Beerus is doing. I have a feeling it is the "prodigy instinct" that Beerus has been hinting at, and Whis is training Goku and Vegeta on during the second film.

Hirudegarn is not like Kid Boo at all. He's got absolutely no childishness in him. Bio-Broly was also different from the other villains(by virtue of never talking and just being a beast, but it counts) Just nitpicking, I agree overall |

I mean Janemba and Hirudengard were essentially both mindless monsters who only wanted to destroy. Give or take a little intelligence for either one I suppose. But on some part, they were treated as less of an antagonist and almost more of a force of nature at points. Frankly, they had even less characterization than the previous villains. But at the same time they were different from all the smug, smartass villains we had before also. Edited by EMIYA, Sep 3 2015, 12:51 AM.
